Back to School Blast

Blast off into the new year

Start the school year right  at our Back to School Blast Party August 25 from 5:30-8pm. We'll have music, bouncies, dunk tanks, art stations, quiet areas, green screens, lawn games, and community organization fair. 

This is a free event to attend, but please bring pocket change for dinner and the dunk tank. Can't wait to see you there!

School Kidz Supply Kits

We are sorry to say that our vendor, School Kidz,  has had nationwide trouble filling orders this summer. Thousands of school orders were cancelled or had severe delays in delivery. 

Big Hollow was one of the lucky few that had our orders delivered. Unfortunately, they were assembled with many errors. When you receive your kit, please compare it to the original supply list and look for missing items. The lists and missing item forms will be with our volunteers in the cafeteria from 4-6pm on Monday. You can also email Cindy Haran with a list of the missing items if you would prefer. 

Please know that teachers are aware of this problem, and your deliveries WILL be completed. Do not rush out to the store to find the missing items. Your child's teacher will make sure the first couple of weeks are a smooth transition, and any missing supplies will not be an issue. Again, we're so sorry for the inconvinience, and we are already looking into other vendors for the next school year. 

The PTO board members will be at each of the three buildings from 4-6pm during Meet and Greet. Please stop by and say hi, check out the Spirit Wear, and see what fun things we have planned this year!

Volunteer Coordinator Needed

The Big Hollow PTO is currently looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to serve on the PTO Board for a two-year term. Candidates will be voted on at our September 25th meeting (6:30pm @ the Middle School).  


The volunteer coordinator will do the following:

  • Coordinate the number of volunteers and shifts needed for various PTO sponsored events 
  • Organize emails and communications between event chairpersons and volunteers regarding schedules and shifts for upcoming events
  • Provide a list of expected volunteers to event chairpersons on the day of the event
  • Participate in PTO sponsored events as much as possible to assist with check-in of volunteers and directing them to their jobs.

Be the parent of a current Big Hollow Student or a current Big Hollow Teacher
